Primary & Foreign Key

Tables are the most common means of storing and organizing data into an MS Access database. Various referential integrity constraints like, primary key, foreign key, and more are used to maintain data integrity in these tables. Two of the most common integrity constraints are discussed below:

Primary key :

Primary key, in relational database, is an integrity constraint that uniquely identifies each record in the table. These constraints mainly appear as columns are dependent on the choice of the administrator. A primary key is always unique and can not contain any null value.

Foreign key :

Foreign key, in relational database, are primarily used to create relationships between the tables. The key contains a field that matches the primary key column of any other table in Access database. A table can contain more than one foreign key, and each foreign key can have a different referenced table.

The above integrity constraints can be corrupted if your Access database gets corrupted due to various logical reasons. In such situations, if you have not maintained any backup or backup falls short to restore the desired constraints, then you will need to use advanced Access repair software to repair your database.

Stellar Phoenix Access Recovery is a simple, easy, and fast Access Database Repair application to repair corrupted database constraints after almost all database corruption scenarios. Compatible with Microsoft Access 2007, 2003, XP (2002), and 2000, and the MDB repair software can also repair Access database objects like, tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, and modules.
